Alumni of the Month
Vincent Jones
One of NTLP’s greatest strengths is the longevity and dedication of its amazing alumni. This month, we are pleased to profile 1993 alumn, Mr. Vincent Jones, as our April Alumni of the Month.
Vincent attended NTLP when it was CTLP (California Teen Leadership Program) in 1993 and 1994. Inspired and motivated to make a difference, Vincent spent the summer in Sacramento volunteering for the program the summer after high school.

Vincent Jones presents the Excellence in Education Award to Director, Laura Segura.
From there Vincent was off to attend Swarthmore College, where he graduated in 1998 with a degree in History. He was also a Eugene M. Lang Scholar for Social Action, a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow, a Truman Fellowship Semi-Finalist, and a Dean’s Award recipient for his significant contributions to the Swarthmore College community.
More recently, Vincent served as the Los Angeles County representative to US Senator Barbara Boxer and Executive Director for Center for Health Justice where he enhanced visibility of the agency and its innovative work to empower people affected by HIV and incarceration to make healthier choices. During his tenure with Senator Boxer, Vincent was proud to represent her office and present the Excellence in Education Award to NTLP in 2006.
In April of 2009, Vincent was hired as senior program officer for the Liberty Hill Foundation. The Foundation strives to identify community leaders at the frontlines of change and to forge a common agenda for equality and opportunity in Los Angeles.
Over the past 18 years, Vincent has stayed in touch with and been a strong supporter of NTLP. He is an active fundraiser and Board Director and we are honored to have him as a part of our organization. If you would like to ask Vincent questions about Swarthmore, his many political activities and interests or anything else of interest, please email him here.
